A good Puppy start

With us, a puppy's life begins with more than just warmth and milk.

We consciously work to provide our puppies with a safe and stimulating start, giving them the very best foundation for life ahead.

From the age of 3 days until 16 days, we carry out short daily exercises with the puppies – also known as Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS). These small exercises only last a few seconds each, but they play an important role in how the puppies' nervous systems mature. This helps them become better equipped to handle new impressions and challenges later in life.

Research shows that ENS can strengthen, among other things, stress tolerance, the immune system, and the puppies' ability to adapt to new situations.

At the same time, we combine ENS with Early Scent Introduction (ESI), where the puppies are gently introduced to different mild scents during the same period. This further stimulates their sense of smell and curiosity and helps lay the foundation for a rich and confident sensory experience.

All of this naturally takes place in a calm and loving manner, in close contact with us and their mother. 🐾

Practising Life

As the puppies grow a little older and begin to open their eyes, we gently help them start discovering the world. We take our time and do everything in a safe, loving, and positive way – always focusing on what is best for each individual puppy.

They will join us on small outings where they get to experience a little of the world: short car rides, calm trips in a wagon, walks around town, and meetings with different people – with hats, without hats, with walking sticks, and without. All of this is done to give them kind and positive first impressions of new sounds, scents, and situations.

At home, we also practise all the important things that give them a solid foundation:

  • Being groomed, enjoying a gentle bath, being blow-dried, having their nails trimmed, and having their ears, mouth, and paws gently checked

  • Learning to wear a collar, harness, and leash

  • Seeing and hearing the vacuum cleaner and floor washer without becoming frightened

  • Learning that everyday sounds can be a little noisy without being dangerous

We also set up small exploration games in the garden. Indoors, we introduce balance boards, sensory swings, flags, gently fluttering fabrics, and different surfaces under their paws.

The puppies will also be introduced to sounds such as thunder and fireworks, as well as other everyday noises – always in a gentle way and at the puppies' own pace.

They begin learning basic house-training and how to be handled calmly and confidently.

As we also enjoy dog shows ourselves, the puppies are gently introduced to wearing a lead and standing still for short moments – simply as a little game and a first, positive introduction to the show world.

They will also be gently and carefully introduced to sounds such as thunder and fireworks – always at the puppies' own pace and surrounded by plenty of security and reassurance.

We do all of this because our goal is to send the puppies out into the world as confident, curious, and joyful little beings, ready to bond with their new families and continue their journey together with you. 🐾
